“Everything in my work revolves around nature. My yard is loaded with perennials, bulbs and flowering plants. If it’s a nice day, you will find me out trimming, planting, admiring the trees and flowers. It is this love for plants that dominates my artwork. Several years of painting 2-D flowers, leaves and earth recently led to creating 3-D pieces. Working with watercolor papers, I paint, mold and glue these papers to birch cradle frames to make Peonies, Poppies, Daisies and Roses. At times I roll handmade papers into coils, and with these, create abstract paintings evoking nature.”
